Sunvalley Communication is looking for a Sr. Assignment Editor to manage and create content for our radio, podcast, online and social media platforms. The ideal candidate would have a passion for medical and health related news and creating content.
The Sr. Assignment Editor is responsible for managing assignments, dealing with logistics, overseeing the dissemination of assignments to Arizona, New Jersey and New York-based Multimedia Producers. You will be developing ideas for features and special stories for our radio and podcasts, including The Onco’Zine Brief and Physician’s Weekly while planning and coordinating those as well.
Are you good at seeking out, reporting on and developing stories about health and medicine, wherever they might be in your United Statres? Are you able to single-handedly produce such stories for Radio and Digital platforms? If the answer is yes, then Sunvalley Communication is for you! Our mission to increase the sources of reliable and accurate health and medical news and commentary in the United States and around the world.
Candidates are required to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism (or related field);
- 10 years of experience working in multimedia US-focused journalism;
- Demonstrated understanding of health and medicine;
- Strong news judgment; ensure journalistic standards of fairness, accuracy and relevancy.
- Fluent in spoken and written English;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and cloud-based office products (i.e. Google Drive).
- Proficiency in utilizing industry-standard audio, video and image creation tools (i.e. Hindenburg, Adobe Premiere Pro, Audition, Photoshop)
